6th International HR Conference: "HR Standards & Best Practices"
- a successful educational event, attended by a huge number of participants held on 03.10.2014

Macedonian Association for Human Resources held its 6th International HR Conference on 03.10.2014, an event which resulted in excellent attendance, satisfied participants, expanding knowledge and personal contacts.

The choice of the theme for this year's conference was - "HR Standards & Best Practices", which emerged from the continuing need to promote the profession of management of human resources, setting standards that will be a base on which will be complement the experience of the best international practices in this area.

Within this topic, an eminent speakers, professors and practitioners shared their experience and knowledge with the participants. Mrs. Barbara Luckmann Jagodic (Slovenia) shared her experience of the Triglav Group for staff development and implementation of minimum standards as one of the key factors for organizational success, while HR practitioner, Mr. Rainer Jensen (Germany) spoke on the topic of Talent management with special focus on the Y generation, as one of the best HR practices that are applied in the Coca Cola Erfrischungsgetraenke AG. It was not abandoned the presence of the academic sector, which this year was represented by Mr. Giovanni Serafini, a lecturer at the prestigious University of Sheffield City College and the Academy of managers, who addressed the impact of HR practices on the organizational success.

Besides multiannual support by private sector companies for the event: EVN Macedonia AD, Triglav Insurance Corp. and the Managers Academy, the event was also supported by Door Training Macedonia, the European Association for People Management (EAPM) and the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MISA). The President of EAPM Mr. Izy Behar (France), had his own speech through which he gave recommendations regarding the process for setting standards in the HR profession in Macedonia, but also spoke on the topic - "Who will become the next HR director?". The event was opened with a short speech by Deputy Minister of MISA, Mrs. Martha A. Tomovska.

The exclusive part of the conference was the award for The Best HR Manager of the year, which process for the first time was implemented by the MHRA. The President of the MHRA, Mrs. Christina Lozanoska over the prize to the HR manager for 2014 and expressed her gratitude towards the participants of this choice of recognition in the management of human resources, which additionally promotes the profession. This year the prize was awarded to Mrs. Magdalena Slavejkova, HR manager at USJE AD, while Recognition for professional fulfillment and contribution to this elections were given to three proven HR professionals in their field: Ms. Iskra Trajkoska (Lactalis MK), Ms. Ivana Stojanovic Dojcinovska (Vabtek MZT) and Mrs. Jelica Ivanovska (Visteon Corporation).

This year traditionally within the conference was held HR Expo, at which companies, training centers, universities and colleges, had the opportunity to participate and present their services and programs to the large number of HR managers, recruiters and representatives of the business sector. This year part of the HR Expo were:

·         Faculty of Economics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius

·         SEAVUS Education and Development Centre and

·         University American College Skopje.
